A message from the founder of Spirituality Ebooks, Michael Alperstein:
I have wonderful memories of my dad reading rather sophisticated books, such as The Old Man and the Sea and Moby Dick, to my sister and me when we were young. It was amazing to watch his countenance brighten when he held a book in his hand! He became incredibly passionate as he ‘became’ the characters he read about. With such animated delight, his love for reading (and for writing) was passed on to me.
Though I read all kinds of books, books with spiritual stories and messages have influenced me the most. The first spiritual book I read was called You Can Heal Your Life, by Louise Hay. I was in college, walking home one day, and I suddenly felt “magically pulled” into a bookstore. I was literally magnetized to the book on the shelf! That book started me down an incredible spiritual path.
I was also influenced by The Seth Books, a set of channeled books on the view that we create our realities. In recent years, The Power of Now, by Eckhart Tolle has touched me deeply and so have Eastern spiritual teachings, such as The Tao Te Ching.
Certainly, the specific book that we buy and its contents are important. But as I’ve become more attracted to spiritual teachings, I have come to see that the state of awareness we bring to a book is as important—if not more important—then the book itself.
The state of our inner lives supersedes the power of the “outer look” of a book.
With the proliferation of digital eBooks, now more than ever it is important to be spiritually aware while we read. Whether we read an email, an e-zine, or an ebook, it is important to access true spiritual power inside ourselves. This means not just reading to gather new information, but reading to deepen our connection with our truest and deepest Inner Nature. It is time to up-level the quality of our lives during our "Online Time."
This website is dedicated to this end.
